A hemp wick is a secondary utility tool for igniting things at a lower temperature and 3in-10in distances. Pull the wick taut, ignite it at the end, and use it to ignite other objects such as campfires, candles, BBQ grills, tobacco pipes, sage bundles, and more.
Hemp wick burns at a much lower temperature than traditional lighters. This allows it to burn slowly and better preserve the terpene profiles of herbs.
Start a campfire with Hemp wick:
Assemble a small pile of tinder, such as leaves, twigs, and pine straw. Add a layer of small-medium-sized sticks in a teepee/cone shape, gradually adding thicker sticks until you can put three or four logs outside. Please take a few inches of hemp wick, wad it up, and place it in the center of the tinder. Pull a separate piece of hemp wick taut, ignite the end, and then use the hemp wick to ignite the ball of hemp wick inside the tinder. The hemp wick will continuously burn while the tinder is slowly ignited. Once the tinder is ignited, if everything has been done correctly, you should have a campfire momentarily.
Start a Grill with Hemp Wick:
Using a wood-burning grill, make some tinder from your wood and assemble a small pile. Add a layer of a few small-medium-sized pieces of wood. Take a few inches of hemp wick, wad it up, and place it in the center of the tinder. Pull a separate piece of hemp wick taut, ignite the end, and then use the hemp wick to ignite the small wad of hemp wick inside the tinder. The hemp wick will continuously burn while the tinder is slowly ignited. Once the tinder is ignited, add the rest of the necessary wood.
If you are using a charcoal grill or propane grill, pull our hemp wick taut, ignite the end, and use that to ignite the lighter fluid or propane burners. Hemp wick is perfect for mixing in with tinder for charcoal chimneys. Using hemp wick in this application should result in fewer injuries than traditional combustion lighters.
Emergency Lighting with Hemp Wick:
Hemp wicks can be used for lighting emergencies. Take a spool of our hemp wick, pull it a few inches taut (tight as if trying to stretch it out), and ignite the end. Keep this taut piece of hemp wick vertical for a slight burning flame. You can tilt the hemp wick at an angle to allow the flame more surface area to burn, giving off a larger, faster-burning flame.
Making Candles with Hemp Wick:
Making candles with hemp wick is as simple as using any other wick. We only offer a 1mm hemp wick, suitable for most small candles. Cut a few inches of hemp wick, add a wick tab to the end, pour melted wax into a container, and drop in the tabbed hemp wick. You can also make candles by repeatedly dipping the wick into the wax and allowing it to dry between dippings.
Smoking with Hemp wick:
Smoking with hemp wick is just as simple as any other application. Pull a small segment of the hemp wick taut and ignite the end. Use that to light your pipes at a lower temperature, which helps preserve terpene profiles. Using hemp wick also removes toxic fuels like butane from the equation, leaving you with the actual flavor of the tobacco or herbs. It may take some time to notice the flavor difference fully, but you will refuse to return to the butane flavor.
