Step-by-step: stamping glassine with solvent ink
- Prepare your workspace. Clear and clean the area. Dust or debris under the paper shows up in the impression.
- Select your stamp. Use a good quality rubber stamp with your design, and make sure it’s clean. Old ink residue muddies the image.
- Ink the stamp. Apply solvent ink evenly across the whole design. StazOn is the one we use.
- Stamp the paper. Line the stamp up where you want it, then press with firm, even pressure. Rocking the stamp blurs the edges.
- Let it dry. Give the impression time to dry completely before you handle the bag. Solvent ink dries quickly, but rushing this step is how smudges happen.
- Optional finishing touches. If you want, add embellishments or a coating for extra durability. We usually leave ours plain.
Small choices add up
